The Violators: The No Future Years

History: The Complete collection of The Violators recordings including their post break up spin offs.

Info: My first exposure to The Violators was from The comp "The No Future Singles Collection Volume 1." Needless to say, I was blown away. I had really high hopes for this CD but was disappointed. The first 7 songs are from The No Future singles "Gangland / Fugitive" , "Summer of 81 / Live Fast Die Young" , "Die With Dignity EP" plus The comp cuts from "A Country Fit For Heroes": "Die With Dignity" and "Government Stinks" and the demo cut "Pointless Slaughter." All of which are totally outstanding works of "Clockwork Punk." Then things go downhill as the rest of the CD's seven cuts are from the post break up line up of The Violators and offshoot Taboo. Both bands have a prog/goth/new wave sound. Yup, they're both pretty lame. Still, the Violators were a great band nonetheless.

Best Songs: Die With Dignity, Gangland, Fugitive, Summer of 81, Live Fast Die Young (My Fave of 'em all)

Rating:
** 3/4 (Only cuz half The CD rocks)
